Volunteering offers an excellent way to be involved in the local community, help build a resume, gain valuable experience, and build meaningful relationships. The gifts of time and talents that volunteers bring are valued and cherished by the residents, clients, their families and our employees. LCMNA offers many ways to get involved, with opportunities for all interests and experience. We provide training and dedicated volunteer support and have opportunities available at the Heimstaed Lodge and Care & Share Thrift Store locations.

The lodge also has a large volunteer program, volunteers who give one-on-one care, lead exercise programs, manage fund-raising events, sing (individual and large groups), read, compete in crokinole and putter-ball tournaments, provide church services, manage a library service, facilitate sewing circles, plant and water our courtyard gardens and even provide flowerpots for everyone’s enjoyment. Volunteers participate in our different departments including the kitchen, laundry/housekeeping, nursing and activities contributing to client-centered care and promoting their success. Volunteers give of their time, energy, skills, joy and share their love with those who can benefit from these interventions, logging in between 2,600 to 5,000 hours per year.

This organization could not operate without our large group of volunteers. We have over 100 volunteers that help operate the Care and Share Thrift Store that is providing monetary support to the operation of the LCMNA Senior Lodge under the supervision of a store manager. They manage donations, repair clothes, household items and small equipment, bale and ship clothing to Faith Mission, stock shelves, greet, assist and check-out shoppers, operate the Garden Shed and so much more. They help to generate around $500,000 annually to help care for our elderly.
